Welcome to MediQueue ("we", "us", or "our"). MediQueue is a queue management and appointment booking platform that helps users reserve spots at service centres and track their position in a queue in real time.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. It applies to our mobile application and website (mediqueue.co.in / mediqueue.in).

By using MediQueue, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

2.1 Identity & Contact Information

Full Name — collected during account registration to identify your account and personalise your experience.
Phone Number — used for OTP-based authentication and to link your bookings to your account.
Email Address — collected during registration for account communication and verification.

2.2 Account Identifiers

User ID — a unique identifier assigned to your account within our system, used to manage your bookings and preferences.
Device ID — your device's unique identifier, used to deliver push notifications to the correct device.

2.3 Location Data

Coarse Location — approximate location (city or region level) used to show service centres near you in search results.
Precise Location — exact GPS coordinates, used only when you choose to find service centres closest to your current position. You can deny precise location access at any time in your device settings without losing core app functionality.

2.4 Search & Usage Data

Search History — records of your in-app searches (e.g., service provider names or categories), used to improve search results and analytics.
Product Interaction — information about how you interact with the app (screens visited, features used, buttons tapped), used for analytics to improve the user experience.

2.5 Diagnostics

Crash Data — information collected when the app crashes, including device state and error logs, used to identify and fix bugs.
Performance Data — app response times, load times, and technical performance metrics, used to monitor and improve app stability.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with trusted third-party service providers solely to operate the app:

Google Firebase / Firestore — cloud database and authentication infrastructure
Expo / Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notification delivery
Crash reporting tools — for diagnosing app errors

All third-party providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the purposes specified. We may disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal processes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS / TLS)
Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in
Firestore security rules restricting data access to authorised users only
Access controls limiting who within our team can access user data

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We take all reasonable steps to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data
Portability — request your data in a portable format
Objection — object to certain types of data processing
Withdraw Consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based

Indian users also have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, including the right to be informed, right to correction, and right to grievance redressal.

9. Location Permissions

MediQueue requests location access solely to display service centres near you. Precise location is optional — the app functions with coarse location only. You can manage location permissions at any time in your device's Settings app.

10. Push Notifications

We use your Device ID to send queue status notifications (e.g., when your turn is approaching). You can disable push notifications at any time in your device's Settings app. Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to book or track your queue position manually in the app.

11. Children's Privacy

MediQueue is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
